Thunderstorms expected in 12 states, two FTs this evening, says MetMalaysia


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast in several locations across Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor.

In an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department on Saturday (Nov 22), thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over Perlis, Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang, Perak, Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran and Bera), Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor on the peninsula.

Thunderstorms are also expected in Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong (Betong), Bintulu (Bintulu and Sebauh) and Miri in Sarawak.

In Sabah, the affected areas are Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort and Nabawan) and Sandakan (Tongod and Kinabatangan).

The warning is valid until 5pm Saturday.
