Thief steals RM64,000 Rolex from Subang Jaya luxury watch shop

SUBANG JAYA: A luxury watch shop was robbed after a thief made off with a Rolex worth over RM60,000.

In a statement on Sunday (Nov 24), Subang Jaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the incident, which occurred on Saturday (Nov 23), took place after the suspect posed as a customer at the shop.

“Investigations revealed that the suspect had waited outside the shop in SS16 and claimed he had made an appointment. He also asked several questions about the items in the store.

“Shortly after, the man said he needed to fetch his employer, who was waiting downstairs,” he said.

The complainant and other staff later realised that the watch, worth RM64,000, was missing. It is believed the complainant did not notice the theft immediately as they were on a phone call.

Investigations are ongoing, and those with information are urged to contact Subang Jaya police at 03 7862 7222.
