Keep shining, Dr Wee tells M'sian dancer who claimed top spot at international meet

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian dancer Cherry Yeo Xiao Wei's dedication is testament to her hard work and passion, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

In congratulating Yeo for winning the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) series championship in North Macedonia, the Ayer Hitam MP said her journey in Latin dance, starting from when she was just 5-years-old, was truly inspiring.

Yeo also congratulated Yeo for her achievement as the world No 1 in the WDSF's Solo Female Latin category.

"As you prepare for the WDSF world championships in Bosnia, the nation stands behind you, proud and inspired by your success. Keep on shining, Cherry!," the MCA president said in Facebook post Monday (Nov 25).

Dr Wee also said that Yeo's recent victory in North Macedonia was her eighth championship win this year.

"Yeo’s dedication, from training independently in London to excelling on the global stage, is a testament to her hard work and passion," he added.
