JOHOR BARU: A 27-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on KM5.2 of Jalan Skudai, Pantai Lido.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the accident occurred at 3.40am on Monday (Nov 25) while the victim was heading toward the city centre.

"Initial investigations revealed that the victim lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement.

ACP Raub added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the Johor Baru South traffic police station.

In an unrelated case, Johor Baru South police conducted a special operation targeting illegal parking touts on Sunday night (Nov 24).

"The operation, held from 8.30pm to 11.50pm, resulted in the arrest of four men, aged between 21 and 54, around Jalan Wong Ah Fook," ACP Raub said.

The suspects were detained under Section 50(3) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

If convicted, they face a fine of up to RM2,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both.

ACP Raub said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to enforce road regulations and tackle illegal parking practices that burden the local community.

"We urge the public to report any suspicious activities or provide information that could assist with ongoing investigations and enforcement actions," he added.
