KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in Terengganu, Johor, and Kelantan showed no changes as of 8am on Monday, with the number of victims remaining at 171.
In TERENGGANU, the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported that the number of victims remains at 67 people from 15 families taking shelter in three temporary relief centres in two districts.
Of that number, 57 victims from 13 families are being housed at two relief centres, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Simpang Rawai and Dewan Sivik Merchang in Marang, while in Dungun, 10 victims from two families are taking shelter at the Balairaya Alor Mak Bah relief centre.
Meanwhile, based on the InfoBanjir portal, the river water levels in Parit Utama, Padang Kemunting (F1), Kuala Nerus; Sungai Terengganu at Rumah Pam Pulau Bahagia (F1), Kuala Terengganu; and Sungai Nerus in Kampung Bukit, Setiu have surpassed the alert level.
In KELANTAN, the number of flood victims remains at 76 individuals involving 19 families in two relief centres, namely the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Beris Panchor, Bachok, with 44 victims from 12 families, and SK Gual To'Deh, Pasir Mas, with 32 people from seven families.
The InfoBanjir portal also reported that the water level of the Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang has slightly increased to 8.5 metres (m) as of 9.15am on Monday (Nov 25), compared to 8.75 m last night, exceeding the warning level at 8m.
In JOHOR, the number of victims remains at 28 people from eight families, from Kampung Seberang Batu Badak, who are taking shelter at the Batu Badak relief centre community hall in the Segamat district.
State Disaster Management Committee chairman Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, in a statement, said the forecast for eight districts in Johor is expected to be clear except for Mersing and Kulai, which are expected to be cloudy this morning.
According to the InfoBanjir portal, the water levels in the Sungai Muar at Buloh Kasap and Kampung Tekam jetty, Segamat have exceeded the alert level, while Sungai Kesang at Telok Rimba, Tangkak; Sungai Tangkak River at Kampung Seri Ma'amor, Tangkak; and Sungai Paya Dato, Mersing have surpassed the warning level. - Bernama
