Dr Wee hails Nurqayyum's medal win in World Junior Diving C'ships

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian diver Nurqayyum Nazmi Mohd Nazim's remarkable achievement is a proud moment for Malaysia, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president congratulated Nurqayyum Nazmi on breaking Malaysia's 18-year medal drought at the World Junior Diving Championships by clinching a bronze medal in the boys’ 3m springboard final (16-18 years) in Rio de Janeiro.

He also commended the young athlete's dedication and perseverance.

"With an outstanding score of 506.75 points, Nurqayyum's talent has made the nation proud and proven that hard work and determination always pay off," Dr Wee said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Nov 26).

The Ayer Hitam MP also expressed gratitude to Nurqayyum for representing Malaysia on the global stage and inspiring future generations of divers.

"Thank you, Nurqayyum, for making the nation proud. Here's to many more successes in the future!" he added.
