Man, 22, killed after car crashes into back of oil tanker on NSE


The car driver was killed on the spot in the accident along the NSE near Nilai.

NILAI: A 22-year-old man was killed when his car crashed into the rear of a tanker lorry transporting petroleum along KM275.7 of the North South Expressway here on Tuesday (Nov 26) morning.

Nilai police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the victim, who was driving alone, was killed on the spot in the 4.40am incident.

"Based on preliminary investigation, the tanker lorry was heading towards Seri Kembangan from Melaka when the car crashed into its rear.

"The car driver, who was a site supervisor, sustained serious injuries and died on the spot," he said in a statement.

Supt Abdul Malik urged eyewitnesses to come forward to assist in investigations.

The case, he said, is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
