A WOMAN in China’s Hangzhou province who spent more than 120,000 yuan (RM73,744) on high-end cosmetics treatments was dismayed after colleagues asked why she suddenly looked 10 years older, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 28-year-old, whose surname is Liang, told the press that she had bought several beauty services at a certain clinic.

With the help of the press, it was later found out that all these treatments were hyaluronic acid injections to the face.

Liang was disappointed when others asked what happened to make her look a decade older than she was.

She is currently discussing getting a refund from the cosmetics clinic.

Liang’s story sparked a discussion on the growth of cosmetics treatments and the need for government regulation in curbing unscrupulous beauty practices.

> A wild boar fought off dogs and mauled an elderly man to death in China’s Shaanxi province, reported China Press.

Video footage of the incident showed a large wild boar walking into a housing compound at 9.57am last Sunday.

Upon seeing an old man, said to be in his 70s, the boar charged and rammed into him, causing him to fly several feet in the air before landing on the ground.

The boar then continued attacking the man as three of his dogs tried to come to his rescue.

Unfazed, the boar charged at the dogs and knocked one of them down, which eventually forced all of them to retreat.

When paramedics arrived, the man was found lying in a pool of his blood.

He was pronounced dead on the spot.
