PAS Youth proposes Takiyuddin to replace Hamzah as new PN sec-gen

SHAH ALAM: PAS Youth has proposed for Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan to be the new secretary-general of Perikatan Nasional.

The wing’s chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden has urged Perikatan chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to consider the suggestion as Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has been given a new mandate as Bersatu deputy president.

“Takiyuddin is qualified to hold the position of PN secretary-general based on his experience and seniority in the party.

"Furthermore, he (Takiyuddin) was also the deputy secretary general of Perikatan," Afnan Hamimi said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Hamzah had won the Bersatu deputy president post uncontested in the party's recent election, replacing Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

It is understood that this decision was part of Bersatu's internal negotiations to ensure unity within the party.
