KUALA LUMPUR: The sister of a man who attacked the Ulu Tiram Police Station in May has pleaded not guilty at the High Court here to a charge of failing to provide information related to terrorism ideology over the past seven years.
Kuih seller Mariah Radin Imran, 19, made the plea after the charge was read again before Judge K. Muniandy here Wednesday (Nov 27), reported Sinar Harian.
According to the charge, she was accused of deliberately failing to provide any information about an offence related to terrorism ideology at a house in Kampung Sungai Tiram, Johor, between April 2017 and May 17 this year.
The charge was made under Section 130M of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of imprisonment for up to seven years, a fine, or both, upon conviction.
The case was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamad Mustaffa P. Kunyalam, while the accused was represented by lawyer Arief Firdaus Ashikin.
The court then set Jan 9, 2025, for case management.
On Sept 24, the Johor Baru Sessions Court had ordered for the cases of five family members of the Ulu Tiram Police Station attacker, who are facing nine separate charges related to terrorism, to be transferred to the High Court here.
They include the attacker’s father, Radin Imran Radin Mohd Yassin, 62; his mother, Rosna Jantan, 59; and three siblings, Radin Romyullah Radin Imran, 34; Farhah Sobrina Radin Imran, 23; and Mariah.
