Singer Aiman Tino, wife stranded in Seoul, flight cancelled due to heavy snow

PETALING JAYA: Singer Aiman Tino and his wife, Che Syarah Haifa Che Isa, are stranded in Seoul, South Korea, following heavy snowfall sweeping the country, reports The Star's Malay-language portal mStar.

Aiman, or Muhammad Aiman Yusri, 26, said he was supposed to return to Malaysia on Wednesday (Nov 27), however, the flight had to be cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions.

Aiman said he and Che Syarah Haifa, 25, had to stay on the plane for eight hours before being informed that the flight was cancelled.

"Suddenly it feels disturbing. We were supposed to be going home today... To make matters worse, we were already on the plane from 11am earlier, but then it was postponed.

"We were stuck in the plane for eight hours and we were informed that the weather in Seoul is quite severe," he said.

mStar reported that Aiman had shared the incident through an Instagram story.

He also mentioned that the current temperature in Seoul is at 1°C.

Adding to the couple's distress, they had to go almost the whole day without eating as they were rushing for the flight.

"What's more heartbreaking is that today my wife and I didn't have time for breakfast because we had to rush from the hotel straight to the airport.

"Until now we haven't eaten yet... Luckily Malaysia Airlines provided peanuts and sandwiches, at least we got a little something to eat, but now we're hungry," he said.

Meanwhile, Aiman hopes he can return to Malaysia as soon as possible as he has work that needs to be completed.

"Even tomorrow is uncertain for us to return. Please pray for us all, friends. I have other work to be completed the day after tomorrow," he shared.

Seoul is blanketed by the heaviest snowfall for November since records began more than 117 years ago, according to the country's weather agency.

The Korea Meteorological Agency (KMA) reported that as much as 16.5 centimetres of snow had fallen by 7am local time on Wednesday, surpassing the previous record of 12.4cm set on Nov 28, 1972.
