Cops nab small-time drug peddler in Petaling Street


KUALA LUMPUR: A 48-year-old man was detained in possession of 26.1g of heroin.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said the suspect was apprehended at Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin at about 11.50pm on Tuesday (Nov 26).

"The drugs seized are worth about RM652.

"The suspect also tested positive for morphine," he said in a statement Thursday (Nov 28).

Initial investigations revealed the suspect was active in drug abuse and trafficking, be it on a smaller scale, around Jalan Petaling, he said.

"The suspect also has a police record for multiple criminal and drug related offences.

"He has been remanded until Tuesday (Dec 3)," he said.

ACP Sulizmie urged those with information on any criminal or drug related activities to contact the Dang Wangi police hotline at 03-2600 2222, KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or any nearby police station.
