Man attacks woman who refused to date him

POLICE in Tamil Nadu have arrested a man who brutally attacked a woman who refused to date him, Malaysia Nanban reported.

According to news reports, the accused, Siddiq Raja, had been harassing the young woman who worked at a photocopy shop in the Indian city of Madurai, demanding that she become his girlfriend.

On Sunday, the 25-year-old man turned up at her workplace again but the woman refused to speak to him.

Enraged, Siddiq started punching the woman until she fell unconscious and then ran away.

Neighbouring shopkeepers and workers rushed to help the woman and sent her to a hospital.

With the aid of CCTV footage, police managed to track down and arrest the assailant and his friend who was present during the attack.
