State opposition leader treated for swelling in back of head

GEORGE TOWN: The State Opposition leader is being treated for a swelling in the back of his head (brain).

Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff who was visibly absent from the state legislative assembly, has been hospitalised and is receiving treatment at the Penang Hospital.

Penaga assemblyman Mohd Yusni Mat Piah said Muhammad Fauzi is being treated at the Neurology Ward here and is undergoing further treatment.

"They will be doing an MRI later today because it is said that there is swelling in the back of his head.

"I visited him during the state assembly lunch break.

"He seemed fine and in good spirits.

"The doctors said he was stable and they were monitoring him," he said at the state legislative assembly on Thursday (Nov 28).

Mohd Yusni said Muhammad Fauzi felt weak when he went to the toilet at the state legislative assembly on Wednesday (Nov 27) evening.

"He said his hands could not move and he went to see the health officer here at the state assembly.

"They found that his blood pressure reading was almost 200.

"They took him straight to the Penang Hospital and scanned his brain," he said.
