Continuous rain warning for East Coast extended to Saturday


PETALING JAYA: The continuous rain warning for parts of the East Coast has been extended to Saturday.

In an advisory issued at 12.30pm on Friday (Nov 29) by the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the warning for continuous torrential rain of danger level (red) remains for the entire state of Terengganu and parts of Kelantan ((Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai).

Continuous heavy rain of severe level (orange) is also expected to occur over the states of Perak (Hulu Perak) • Kelantan (Gua Musang) • Pahang (Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin).

Other areas that see continuous rain at alert level (yellow) are the states of Perlis, Kedah and Penang.

Also affected are Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh and Bera) and Johor (Segamat, Mersing and Kota Tinggi).
