FIREFIGHTERS fulfilled a mother and a daughter’s wish to go for their pilgrimage after a flood in Rantau Panjang almost derailed their travelling plans, Harian Metro reported.
Norizan Mohammad, 60, and her daughter, Amalina Mohd Salleh, 28, did not know how to get to the airport after being informed that the main road from Rantau Panjang to Pasir Mas was flooded.
“We packed all our bags and went to the Rantau Panjang fire and rescue department to ask for help. Firemen then gave us a lift using a four-wheel vehicle,” said Norizan.
“Once we reached Pasir Mas, we boarded one of our relative’s cars to bring us to the airport.
“This is our first pilgrimage as mother and daughter, and we didn’t expect to go through an experience like this. We are grateful that we are now safe and pray that the flood in Rantau Panjang will recede soon,” Amalina said.
> Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza says she is shy to carry the “Biduanita” title, Kosmo! reported.
The 45-year-old songstress is more comfortable being called by her own name.
“I’m still Siti Nurhaliza who goes home to make milk for my children, cook and fulfil my responsibilities as a mother.
“I am still selling things on TikTok because that’s my responsibility,” she said.
The celebrity wants to keep striving to give her best while being grateful for receiving such a great honour.
“For me, awards will come naturally when we work hard. I never thought I would be given such a huge recognition because I prioritise the satisfaction of my fans,” she added.
Siti Nurhaliza took the time to advise young singers to continue pursuing their dreams but to be prepared to work hard.
