Firemen rescue 36 workers from flooded chicken farm

TAMPIN: Firemen rescued 36 workers at a chicken farm in Gemencheh after the area was inundated by floodwaters.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said 33 of those rescued were foreign workers, and three others were local women.

He stated that teams from the Tampin and Gemencheh stations were dispatched to the farm around 10.10am, and the rescue operation was completed three hours later.

"The victims were later sent to the Gedok flood relief centre for the next course of action," he said.
