PBS and Sabah STAR to meet today discuss election strategy

KOTA KINABALU: Seat arrangements, election strategies and reaffirming partnership commitments are among the main agendas at the latest Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Sabah STAR Joint Leadership Council (JLC) meeting on Friday (Nov 29).

In a joint statement, PBS and Sabah STAR announced their plans and strategies through political collaboration to secure significant victories in the upcoming state election.

PBS Acting President Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam and STAR President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan stated that during the JLC meeting, held for the second time, they also discussed intensifying preparations for the state election and identifying which seats to contest.

"Among the key matters discussed are the need to step up grassroots collaboration at the divisional level and set up election machinery," they said.

They are optimistic that the political collaboration between the two parties will make them a formidable force.

The JLC also agreed to develop a joint manifesto reflecting the shared vision of PBS and STAR, which complements the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) manifesto.

"PBS and STAR reaffirm their commitment to ensuring their partnership will help deliver a resounding victory for the GRS in the state election," the statement read.

PBS and STAR held their first JLC meeting on Sept 13.
