Sandakan firemen save baby locked in car

KOTA KINABALU: Firemen had to be called in to free a nine-month-old baby girl who was locked inside a car in Sabah’s east coast Sandakan district on Friday (Nov 29).

Sandakan station chief Severinus @ Mohd Nidzam Sainkui said they were alerted to the incident by a family member of the infant at 6.52am.

He said a team arrived at the location at the Sentosa Apartments eight minutes later.

“Our men proceeded to unlock the car with special equipment to rescue the baby,” he said when contacted.

Severinus said the baby was then handed back to the family, and the operation ended at 7.06am.
