Man United offers support to flood victims in heartfelt FB post

PETALING JAYA: English Premier League giants Manchester United have won the hearts of Malaysian football fans when they offered prayers, especially to affected flood victims.

To add a local touch to the message, the message was conveyed in the Malay language via its official Facebook page with 84 million followers on Friday.

"Kepada rakyat Malaysia, jaga diri pada musim hujan ini. (To Malaysians, take care of yourselves during this rainy season).

"Kami sentiasa di belakang anda rakyat Malaysia! (We are always behind you, Malaysians!)

"Kepada mangsa banjir yang terjejas, semoga dapat mengatasi cabaran ini dengan baik dan selamat. (To the flood victims affected, may you overcome this challenge well and safely," the club wrote.

The Community Welfare Department's disaster info portal showed that as of 9pm on Friday, flood in the country has worsened with over 100,000 victims from nine states affected.

Based on the portal, a total 102,253 people from 31,231 families were placed in 643 temporary evacuation centres (PPS).
