Affordable homes unsold since 2021 down by 35%, says Nga

IPOH: The number of affordable homes that were unsold since 2021 have been reduced by 35%, says Nga Kor Ming.

The Housing and Local Government Minister said since the Madani government took over the administration of the country, about 13,000 units out of 37,000 overhang affordable properties have been sold.

"There are now about 24,000 units left, including some projects that are being launched," he said in a press conference after presenting keys to new home owners at Tanah Hitam, Chemor, here on Sunday (Dec 1).

Nga added that the property sector is seeing a boom and the ministry's target of achieving RM100bil in property transactions this year has been achieved.

"As of June, we have surpassed our key performance index of RM100.5bil (in property sales).

"This shows how strong the momentum is, which is a very good sign that we should be proud of," he added.
