PETALING JAYA: The number of flood victims housed in temporary evacuation centres has risen to 150,782 as of 9am on Sunday.
This figure involves 45,195 families placed in 699 relief centres across nine states: Kelantan, Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Perlis, Johor, Pahang, Melaka, and Selangor.
Kelantan continues to record the highest number of flood victims, with 30,049 evacuees, though the situation in Negri Sembilan and Selangor shows a decline in numbers, reports Sinar Harian.
In Kelantan, 97,204 people from 30,047 families are being sheltered in 284 relief centres, compared to 91,279 on Saturday evening. According to the InfoBencana portal by the Social Welfare Department, Pasir Mas remains the worst-hit area with 29,707 evacuees, followed by Tumpat (17,713), Kota Baru (14,247), Pasir Puteh (9,884), and Kuala Krai (6,625).

Meanwhile, in Terengganu, the number of flood victims has increased to 41,795, up from 39,954 on Saturday (Nov 29) evening. Besut is the worst-affected district, with 15,636 evacuees (4,208 families) in 122 relief centres. Hulu Terengganu recorded 7,657 victims in 60 relief centres; Setiu, 6,513 victims in 50 relief centres; Dungun, 5,759 victims in 39 relief centres; Kuala Terengganu, 2,153 victims in nine relief centres; Kemaman, 1,246 victims in 11 relief centres; Kuala Nerus, 2,023 victims in 12 relief centres; and Marang, 770 victims in eight relief centres.
In Kedah, flood victims have surged to 8,077 individuals from 2,584 families in seven districts, housed in 54 relief centres. In Negri Sembilan, 15 relief centres in three districts are providing shelter to 1,917 victims from 533 families.

In Johor, 611 victims from 179 families are housed in 14 relief centres across two districts, while in Pahang, 519 victims from 165 families are accommodated in 16 relief centres.
Flood conditions in Perlis have improved, with 363 victims from 113 families in two relief centres across two districts. Similarly, in Selangor, there are now 114 victims from 36 families in one relief centre.
In Melaka, the flood situation remains unchanged, with five active relief centres, sheltering 313 victims from 76 families across three districts.
