Floods: 239 victims in Tangkak allowed to return home


JOHOR BARU: A total of 239 flood victims in Tangkak have been allowed to return home as the situation improves in the district.

The state disaster management committee said as of 4pm on Sunday (Dec 1), there are still 528 victims from 139 families being housed at 16 temporary relief centres in Segamat.

“Three PPS in Tangkak have been closed down after 239 people from 80 families were allowed to return to their homes.

“The majority of the flood victims in Segamat are from Kampung Padang Kiambang with 122 people and Kampung Batu Lima,” the committee said in a statement.

Flood victims in Kampung Padang Kiambang are placed at Balairaya Kampung Padang Kiambang, while victims from Kampung Batu Lima are at Dewan Kampung Tandong.
