Five detained during traffic ops in Iskandar Puteri


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Five people, including a woman, were arrested during traffic police operation here.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the operation was part of ‘Ops Mabuk’, which ran from Nov 24 to Nov 30.

“During the operation, four men and one woman, aged between 46 and 53, were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol,” he told a press conference at the Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters on Monday (Dec 2).

He added the suspects were arrested under Section 45A of the Road Transport Act 1987 for drunk driving.

“We will continue to carry out these operations, and there will be no leniency for anyone caught driving under the influence of alcohol,” he added.
