Flood warning issued for Perak due to rising river levels


KUALA LUMPUR: The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) has issued a flood warning for Perak from Monday (Dec 2) until Friday (Dec 6).

The alert is due to expected rises in river water levels that may exceed the danger mark, as reported by Astro Awani.

In a statement on the Publicinfobanjir portal, the DID announced flood forecasts for Hilir Perak, covering low-lying areas within a 5km radius near Sungai Bidor in Changkat Jong.

Other affected areas include 7-5I and 7-3I in Block 5a Chenderong Balai, Parit Pembuang 7-4 5I Labu Kubong, Kampung Guru Langkap, Jalan Klinik, Kampung Tukang Sidin, and Chikus.

The DID stated that flooding could occur earlier or later than expected, depending on the intensity of rainfall in the affected areas.
