Negri Sembilan flood situation improving, says Civil Defence Dept


SEREMBAN: The flood situation in Negri Sembilan has continued to improve with only 215 victims still housed at four relief centres.

State Civil Defence Department chief Lt Col (PA) Mohd Nazri Mes Kam said as of 1pm, Tampin had two relief centres followed by one each in Kuala Pilah and Jempol.

He said Jempol had the most number of victims with 108 followed by Kuala Pilah (74) and Tampin (33).

"In total, there are 62 families still housed at the four centres," he said.

Mohd Nazri said all victims in Jempol were putting up at SJKT Ladang Sialang while those in Kuala Pilah were at Dewan Desa Dangi.

In Tampin, 19 victims remain at the Pasir Besar community hall and 13 at SK Londah.

As of 8pm on Sunday (Dec 1), there were eight active relief centres in the state housing 1,198 victims from 317 families.
