Severe thunderstorms, heavy rain forecasted in Kelantan and Terengganu until Dec 4

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) predicts severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain in Kelantan and Terengganu from the afternoon of Dec 3 until Dec 4.

According to a statement by MetMalaysia, these weather conditions were due to the convergence of winds that have the potential to generate severe thunderstorms and heavy rain during this period.

"The monsoon surge is expected to start from Dec 8 to Dec 14, 2024. This situation has the potential to cause continuous rain in the eastern Peninsula during the specified period," the statement said on Monday (Dec 3).

The public is advised to always refer to the official website www.met.gov.my and MetMalaysia's official social media, and to download the myCuaca app for the latest and accurate information.
