PETALING JAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is ready to prepare for the upcoming Sabah State Election and the 16th General Election (PRU16).
In light of this, its Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that Bersatu's headquarters would take steps to conduct on-ground audits of the party machinery's strength in all divisions.
“The 7th Bersatu Annual General Assembly concluded Sunday evening with a resolve to remain steadfast in our struggle and work diligently as a team to achieve victory in the upcoming general election.
“The keynote address by the President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, themed ‘Bersatu Leading 21st-Century Politics,’ has instilled new confidence in the party and clearly outlined the objectives, direction, and core values needed to face today’s political challenges and dynamics,” he said in a statement on Monday (Dec 2) reported by Sinar Harian.
Earlier, Muhyiddin, also the Chairman of Perikatan Nasional (PN), expressed confidence that the coalition could seize control of three states—Pahang, Perak, and Selangor—in PRU16.
He says this confidence is based on the growing support for PN in all three states.
Elaborating further, Azmin said that Bersatu would strengthen its collaboration with other parties within PN while ensuring that the agenda of Malay and Islamic struggles continue to be prioritised.
He explained that the party would also enhance outreach programmes to engage with grassroots voices and address local issues to empower the people.
Speaking about the delegates’ debates during the 7th PAT, he described them as being of high quality, focusing on various issues, including public concerns, improving party management, operations, geopolitics, economics, and more.
“The delegates’ debates also discussed policies on immigration, the influx of non-citizens, the disappearance of some individuals without a trace, dubious citizenship statuses, and the threats posed by foreigners to the nation’s security, economy, national identity, and stability.
“The delegates also fully support Bersatu President Muhyiddin's proposal for the government to urgently establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate and find solutions to the impact and threats of foreigners to the country,” he added.
