KUALA LUMPUR: Participants of the 5th World Association Presidents’ Conference (WAPC) have given the conference a thumbs up, calling it highly practical and useful for networking.
Beijing Yuntian Liangpin Technology chairman Liu Yuntian said the conference has helped her meet like-minded individuals and increase her knowledge of agricultural trade between Malaysia and China.
Liu has been in the fruit importing and exporting industry for decades, bringing Malaysian fruits such as durian to China and Chinese apples to Malaysia.
“I joined to learn and find more opportunities to bring fruits to China and vice versa,” said Liu, who enjoys premium Malaysian durian.
Shaanxi Gejie Organic Agriculture Development chairman Xi Lingling said the conference has helped her understand Malaysia’s international trade policy much better.
“I attend this conference every year, and this year is particularly special as it is held outside China.
“Malaysia has a lot of potential for high-quality development, and it is high time for me to come and experience it myself,” she said, adding that it is her first time in Malaysia.
“This conference sets itself apart from others as it provides practical information.
“I have gained a lot from the conference and made new connections that are important for future business development,” Xi added.
Ace Consulting chief learning officer Dr Au Tai Yiat said he came because all the speakers are thought leaders, while the event provides a good opportunity to meet these influential leaders.
“The sharing today was important as it was about the government’s policy and trajectory in international trade, which also impacts future business dealings,” he said.
Dr Au added that he had benefited from the roundtable and joined the digital ecommerce and finance management segment as he is from an IT background.
