Woman killed after motorcycle crashes into cow in Johor


BATU PAHAT: A 47-year-old woman has tragically lost her life after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a cow on Monday (Dec 2) evening on Jalan Bypass, near Kampung Gombak in Peserai, here.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the accident occurred at 7.45pm.

“The victim, identified as Dewiana Marpok, was riding from Kampung Bintang towards Kampung Gombak when she struck the cow, which was reportedly standing in the middle of the road.

“No other vehicles were involved in the incident,” he said in a statement here on Tuesday (Dec 3).

ACP Shahrulanuar added that Dewiana, who works as a security guard, sustained severe internal injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The police also called on anyone with relevant information about the incident to come forward.
