Zahnita's husband remanded until Dec 5 for domestic violence

PETALING JAYA: Actress and former model Zahnita Wilson's husband has been remanded until Thursday (Dec 5) to assist with investigations following allegations of domestic violence.

According to Sinar Harian, the man was handed the remand order by Magistrate Tengku Eliana Tuan Kamaruzaman at the Kuantan Court Complex on Tuesday (Dec 3) morning.

Zahnita, full name Zahnita Dorothy Hussein Wilson, shocked her fans when she revealed her bruised face and black eye on Instagram.

She said that she refused to remain silent any longer and that she had to reveal the matter to the public and thus answer many questions about why she often wore sunglasses.

“I didn’t want to do this, but I had to. This is the reason why I left my old house and also the reason why I always wear sunglasses,” she wrote.

Two days before making the shocking revelation, the 39-year-old woman shared about her move to a location to manage the pie business she has been running for the past few months.

Pahang police chief Comm Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said that the initial investigation showed that Zahnita's intention to leave her marital home and separate from her husband sparked the domestic violence.

He said that Zahnita's husband had become angry and turned violent upon learning about Zahnita's intention.

"The victim lodged a police report on Nov 27 and the husband was arrested on Monday (Dec 2)," he said when met at the state police headquarters on Tuesday.
