IPOH: Perak Opposition leader Razman Zakaria has been reminded that not all red-coloured flags are China flags.
State domestic trade, cooperatives, consumer affairs and Chinese new villages committee chairman Woo Kah Leong said some of it (red flags) belong to Chinese temples.
He said this during his winding-up speech at the state assembly sitting Wednesday (Dec 4) when speaking about several remarks made by Razman (PN-Gunung Semanggol).
“Before making any accusations, make sure you correct your public knowledge first.
“Your latest slander in this honorable House is by saying that evidence showed that there are Malaysian citizens raising the Chinese flag,” he said.
On Oct 24, the Guan Gong Cultural Association held a parade in Teluk Intan where several foreigners believed to be from China had waved Chinese flags.
PAS had raised concerns related to national sovereignty, and Razman had expressed outrage at Chinese flags being raised at the festival.
Woo said Razman had said that there were photos of him (Woo) and Teluk Intan MP Nga Kor Ming on the programme banners.
“I want to ask here, there are also many banners during the Perikatan Nasional era where pictures of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin have been used, does that mean that he has to be responsible for everything that happens?
“For example, if there is a programme organised by YB Gunung Semanggol for the changing of black oil for motorcycles in the area, and there are some illegal racers involved in an accident after changing the oil, does that mean you (Razman) have to be responsible?
“It is normal to put pictures and faces of local assemblymen for programmes, everyone does that,” he said, also asking when Razman was going to apologise for all his remarks.
Woo also asked Razman if he had read the statement by the police that Chinese nationals were the ones waving the flags of China, and not the Malaysian Chinese.
