IPOH: A High Court here heard that 17-year-old Muhammad Zaharif Affendi's autopsy proved that he died due to chest and abdomen injuries caused by a road traffic crash.
Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Forensic Specialist, Dr. Ain Nurfarhana Hamdan, 34, testified that the victim had eight broken ribs, four on the right (back), three on the left (back) and one on the left side.
"There are also injury marks on the victim's head, face, chest, abdomen, back, both hands and both legs.
"The abdominal cavity contained 2000ml blood collection (hemoperitoneum) and bruising of the mesenteric tissue," she said when questioned by Deputy Public Prosecutor Afzainizam Abdul Aziz today (Dec 4).
The 24th prosecution witness added that both of the victim's lungs were bruised and there was a laceration on the left lung.
"There was bruising around the right kidney and around the right adrenal gland," she said.
She added that the victim also had his left little finger (proximal bone) broken.
"The injuries on the deceased's body were consistent with the pattern of road traffic injuries.
"The post-mortem examination did not reveal any signs of common disease that could have contributed to or caused his death at that time," she said.
She added that 108 pictures of the autopsy of the deceased were captured.
Deputy Supt Mohd Nazri Abdul Razak is charged with murdering Zaharif at the intersection of Jalan Taman Jati/Jalan Pekeliling Meru Indah, near SMK Jati, between 12.05pm and 12.40pm on Dec 15 last year.
