Actress Zahnita's husband arrives at court to face charges

KUANTAN: The husband of well-known model and actress Zahnita Wilson arrived at the Kuantan Court Complex on Thursday (Dec 5) morning to face charges related to causing injury and drug offences.

According to Sinar Harian, Abd Zackery Ghouse Abd Gafoor, 46, was brought to court under tight police security at about 9.05am.

He is expected to be charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 326A of the Penal Code, for allegedly causing harm to his spouse.

The construction contractor also faces another charge related to a positive drug urine test under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The case gained public attention after Zahnita Wilson posted pictures showing bruises around her eye on her social media account.

The Kuliah Cinta film actress also claimed to be a victim of domestic violence.

On Tuesday (Dec 3), the husband of the celebrity, who is of Malay and Australian descent, was remanded for three days to assist in the investigation.

The remand process took place at the Kuantan Magistrate's Court, and the order was issued by Magistrate Tengku Eliana Tuan Kamaruzaman.

Media representatives gathered at the court to follow the developments of this case.

In 2013, Zahnita filed for divorce from her husband at the Shah Alam Syariah Lower Court in Selangor but withdrew the petition in early 2015.

The couple married in 2005 and have four children: Zahrafeena, Zasharayna, Zahlia, and Zayden.
