RM130K worth of ecstasy seized in JB drug raid


JOHOR BARU: Police seized more than RM130,000 worth of ecstasy powder in a raid in Kempas here on Wednesday (Dec 4).

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said during the raid on premises in Setia Tropika here, police also arrested a 28-year-old man at the scene.

“In the operation, we seized drugs believed to be ecstasy powder weighing more than 1kg and valued at RM131,687.

“The drugs seized can be used by more than 500 addicts,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 5).

ACP Balveer added that the suspect tested positive for drugs and was under remand for five days until Sunday (Dec 8).

The case is being investigated under Sections 15(1)(a) and 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
