Perlis announces RM2,000 special financial aid for state civil servants

KANGAR: The Perlis government has decided to grant special financial aid of RM2,000 to all state civil servants, including those on a contract basis.

Mentri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli (pic), while presenting the Perlis Budget 2025, themed Perlisku Bestari Berkat Lestari, at the state assembly sitting on Tuesday (Dec 10), said that the aid represents the state’s gratitude for their commitment and service.

"I'm delighted to announce that in recognition of the dedication and sacrifices of our civil servants, the state government has agreed to provide a special financial aid of RM2,000 to all state civil servants, including contract staff," he said.

Furthermore, Mohd Shukri mentioned that the Perlis government is supportive of the implementation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), which is expected to provide a fairer and more competitive salary structure.

"In line with the SSPA’s implementation, effective from Dec 1, 2024, civil servants will receive a minimum monthly salary of RM2,115.

"With an additional expenditure of RM4.3mil needed to facilitate this initiative, I hope all state civil servants will deliver their best services to stakeholders, particularly the people of Perlis," he concluded. – Bernama
