Floods: APM relief mission sends RM80,000 worth of aid to Kelantan victims

BUKIT MERTAJAM: RM80,000 in post-flood aid for victims in Kelantan has been collected to ease their burdens.

The items including food, bottled water, diapers and cleaning equipment were packed in a container here and delivered to the collection point about 400km away.

Accompanying the consignment were 10 pickup trucks from various agencies including the Civil Defence Force (APM), according to Bukit Mertajam Civil Defence Auxiliary Emergency Response Team (CDA-ERT) chairman Major Kelvin Lor.

"Several private companies and NGOs came forward and gathered the supplies within two weeks.

"This is the second delivery sent after the floods to assist victims in Kelantan.

"A total of 30 personnel joined in the convoy to drop off and distribute the items," he said after flagging off the convoy at the Central Seberang Prai district APM office in Jalan Kulim on Friday (Dec 13).

Maj Lor added that the relief mission was the team's second since it was established in 2022.

Also present were Penang APM deputy director Lt Col Zico Sual and Central Seberang Perai district APM officer Capt Mohd Fadhil Fahmi Zaini.
