PM gives aid to Tambun flash flood victims

IPOH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has distributed contributions to 19 heads of households affected by the flash floods in four villages in the Tambun parliamentary constituency.

The aid was presented by Hulu Kinta assemblyman Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad and the special officer of the Tambun MP’s Office, Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, yesterday.

The flash floods, which occurred on Dec 1, affected four villages – Kampung Cheh, Kampung North Ward, Kampung Masjid and Kampung Bakar Bata – following continuous heavy rainfall.

Speaking to reporters, Mohamad Hairul said that the contributions were part of the efforts by Anwar, who is also Tambun MP, to ease the burden of those affected by the disaster.

“When the floods occurred, the Prime Minister instructed me and the Tambun Parliamentary Office to provide immediate assistance to the victims,” he said, Bernama reported.

He added that each head of household received RM1,000.
