Unity govt parties must respect each other, says Mohamed Khaled on Tengku Zafrul

KOTA TINGGI: Parties within the unity government should respect one another, says an Umno leader here amid speculation about Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Aziz joining PKR.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said this was to ensure the unity government remains strong and harmonious.

"I believe all parties in the government, as well as in any coalition, must have a sense of respect for one another.

"We have worked together to form the unity government, so we must respect each other," he told reporters after officiating the Kampung Angkat Madani programme at Felda Kampung Baru Pasak here on Sunday (Dec 15).

He said this in response to questions about speculation surrounding Tengku Zafrul joining PKR.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that discussions are underway regarding the possibility of Tengku Zafrul joining PKR.

Tengku Zafrul, who is the International Trade and Investment Minister, also stated that he would issue a statement addressing talks about his potential entry into PKR.
