KUALA LUMPUR: A 45-year-old woman had texted her husband to stay strong shortly before she died in an accident while driving in Kepong.
She is believed to have slashed her arms and throat prior to hitting a motorcycle and ramming her car at a road divider located at a traffic light at Jalan Besar Kepong on Saturday night.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said there were slash marks on her arms and neck.
“The victim died at the scene and we are classifying the case as sudden death. The body has been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for post-mortem,” he said.
ACP Ahmad Sukarno said the woman contacted her husband via WhatsApp prior to the incident.
“She texted her husband about an hour before and told him to take care of himself and to stay strong. She also thanked him for all his help,” he said.
ACP Ahmad Sukarno said the victim suffered from a serious back problem.
“We believe she resorted to such an act as she could no longer endure the excruciating pain,” he said.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
