MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warnings for multiple states


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in several states, including Perak, Pahang, and Selangor.

The Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued the weather warning on Tuesday (December 17) and is effective until 4pm.

Adverse weather conditions are forecast for Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim in Perak.

In Pahang, Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, and Bera are expected to be affected, while Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat are also on alert in Selangor.

Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin in Negri Sembilan are expected to experience adverse weather conditions, along with Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru in Johor

In Sarawak, the areas of Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei (including Pakan, Sarikei, and Meradong), Sibu, Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, and Matu), and Limbang are likely to face thunderstorms.

Similarly, in Sabah, the interior regions of Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, and Keningau, as well as Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran, and Sandakan), are expected to experience unfavourable weather.
