A GROUP of Indian residents has appealed to the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) not to be overzealous in its car-parking enforcement, Makkal Osai reported.

Two residents who spoke to the daily, Vivekananthan Vairakannu and Samuel Govindasamy, said the Kajang area is notorious for its parking congestion.

It was not uncommon for shoppers to double-park to run a quick errand, they said.

They urged MPKj to be considerate of the people’s plight.

> A bank manager in India conned a farmer out of tens of thousands of rupees worth of chickens with the promise of a loan, the daily also reported.

Rupchand Manhar had wanted to expand his poultry farm in Chhattisgarh and so sought a loan from the State Bank of India branch in Masturi.

The bank manager initially asked for a 10% commission from the 1.2 million rupees (RM63,000) loan requested by the farmer, before asking for gifts of local chickens from Rupchand.

Rupchand, finally realising that he might go bankrupt before his loan got approved, then filed a petition with the local magistrate.
