Fishermen feared drowned after boat mishap off Balik Pulau


BALIK PULAU: A pair of fishermen are feared to have drowned after they were reported missing at sea near Kuala Sungai Pinang on Tuesday (Dec 17).

Balik Pulau OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam said initial investigations found that the fishermen, both locals, were in a boat mishap at Keracut waters near Kuala Sungai Pinang.

"The victims were last seen on an unregistered blue and red boat," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 18).

ACP Sazalee said a search and rescue operation was launched and is continuing to find the two victims.

He called on anyone with information about the incident to contact the Balik Pulau headquarters operations room at 04-8664122 or any nearby police station.
