PETALING JAYA: YTL Power International Bhd has announced that its subsidiary, YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YTL Comms), has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) concerning the RM4.07bil 1BestariNet project.In a statement, the company said it had received receipt of confirmation from MACC that its investigations has concluded.
“We refer to our statements on Sept 4, 2024, and Oct 30, 2024, concerning the investigation carried out by the MACC into the 1Bestarinet Project undertaken by YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the company.
“We wish to announce that we have received confirmation from MACC that they concluded their investigations and determined that no charges will be pursued against YTL Comms,” it said yesterday.
The 1BestariNet project, launched by the government in 2011, had engaged YTL Comms to provide high-speed Internet access to schools, involving a virtual learning system for students.
In September, Bernama reported that the MACC announced an investigation into YTL Communications regarding the project.
