Year Six pupil dies from electric shock at school in Serdang


SERDANG: A Year Six male pupil died, believed to be from an electric shock, at a school here on Wednesday (Dec 18).

Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner A. A. Anbalagan said a report about the incident was received at about 6.30pm.

"The complainant, a 36-year-old local woman, reported receiving a patient, a 12-year-old boy, who was unconscious.

"The victim was believed to have suffered an electric shock at a school in the Serdang area before being pronounced dead at about 6.50pm," he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 19).

He stated that investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

"The police are awaiting the post-mortem report conducted on the victim's body to determine the cause of the incident.

"This case is classified as sudden death (SDR)," he said.

He advised the public not to speculate or make comments that could disrupt the investigation.
