A TOURIST from China praised Malaysians for their kindness after witnessing MRT passengers working together to clean up a spilled drink, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The tourist wrote on Xiaohongshu that he got on the MRT at the Batu 11 Cheras station and noticed a young man dozing off while holding a cup of Milo, causing it to spill all over the floor.
The young man quickly got up and tried to clean up his mess using tissue paper. Several other passengers got up, took out their own tissue paper and helped the young man with the cleaning.
The amazed tourist took out his phone and recorded the scene. He later said he felt a pang of guilt that the thought of helping others to clean up their mess had never crossed his mind.
Right before the young man got off the MRT, he was seen bowing and thanking the other passengers who helped him.
“This was the most amazing scene I have seen in life. My soul felt as if it had been baptised.
“It was much more beautiful than anything else I have experienced or seen!” the tourist wrote.
His post was liked more than 4,000 times on social media, with many other Internet users sharing similar sentiments.
> China actress Jia Ling admitted that she lost a chunk of her fanbase after losing 50kg in weight for a movie earlier this year, reported China Press.
The 42-year-old actress was perplexed as to why her popularity had fallen after losing more than half of her body weight for her role in the sports drama Yolo.
The once-plump actress was known for her jolly personality but after slimming down, she fell under intense scrutiny from fans, with many not being able to accept her new look.
“Even though I weigh less now, my soul hasn’t changed,” she said.
Jia said that for best visual effects, she managed to reach a low body fat percentage for the role. Having accepted that her popularity has waned, Jia said she would try her best to rebuild her relationship with fans.
“Those who know me, already know me. For those who don’t, I will reach out gradually,” she said.Over the one year of filming for Yolo, Jia kept up a strict training and diet regimen to play someone forever changed by her passion for boxing.
Yolo grossed US$479.4mil (RM2.25bil) worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing film of 2024 worldwide and the highest-grossing Chinese film in 2024.
