Cops rule out foul play after man found dead in Ipoh apartment

IPOH: The police have ruled out foul play in the case of a 68-year-old man who was found dead in his home at Cherry Apartment here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said that there were no criminal elements found and the case would be investigated as sudden death.

"We believe that the victim suffered from various ailments as various medications, including for high blood pressure, were found in the unit," he said on Saturday (Dec 21), adding that a post-mortem examination is being conducted.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said they received a call from the victim's nephew at about 11.10pm on Friday (Dec 20).

He said the nephew had been unable to contact the victim for the last two days and suspected something amiss.
