Over 100 JPJ staff members affected by floods nationwide

KOTA BARU: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) reported that 111 of its officers and personnel were affected by the recent floods nationwide.

JPJ senior enforcement director, Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan, stated that 60 individuals were from Kelantan, including those at the JPJ Eastern Region Academy, followed by Kedah (21), Terengganu (19), Selangor (4), Perlis (4), Pahang (2), and Sabah (1).

He explained that Kelantan was the most affected as some of the staff members living in Pasir Mas and Tumpat, suffered significant losses such as homes submerged in water and damaged appliances and furniture.

"Although officers and personnel in several states were affected, the JPJ's facilities and assets nationwide were not significantly impacted," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after distributing flood relief items, including household goods, electrical appliances, and food baskets, donated by the Madani Ihsan Squad at the Eastern Region Academy to the affected JPJ staff members in Kelantan. - Bernama
