THE sight of a dog seated on a floating styrofoam box cover during a “rescue” mission at a flooded area in Thailand has touched the hearts of many.
Video footage of the incident showed three women, presumably the dog’s owners, using a styrofoam cover as a makeshift raft to carry their pet to safety, China Press reported.
“The dog is like a king while the three women are his ‘attendants’!” a netizen joked about the incident in southern Thailand.
A TikTok user, who uploaded the video, remarked that the dog was given treatment fit for a king.
The three women in the video were seen laughing and having a fun time with the dog despite standing in waist-deep floodwaters.
Many Internet users praised the women for not abandoning their pet.
> Believing that he was getting a lucrative job offer, a Malaysian was lured into working for a scam call centre in Cambodia and remained there for over two years.
China Press reported that with the help of the Malaysian embassy in Cambodia and the Malaysian Humanitarian Organisation, the 30-year-old man finally made it back home on Friday,.
He told the press that he had been jobless until a new friend offered him a well-paying customer service job in Cambodia.
When he arrived at the call centre, he realised that it was run by a scam syndicate.
“I tried making a police report once, but they found out and increased the price for my release from US$7,000 (RM31,549) to US$12,000 (RM54,084).
“I did not have the money. So I was stuck there,” he said.
Earlier this year, the man managed to escape and sought refuge at the Malaysian embassy before his eventual homecoming.
