Senior citizen found dead in Ipoh house

IPOH: A 68-year-old man was found dead in the bathroom of a house here.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said a distress call was made at 1.13am on Tuesday (Dec 24).

He said when firemen arrived at the house in Ipoh Garden they had to break open the bathroom door.

“We found the man lying on a chair inside the bathroom.

“He was certified dead by a medical team who was at the scene,” he said in a statement today.

The spokesman said the man’s friend realised that the man had been in the bathroom for sometime, and the door was locked.

“He suspected something had happened, and immediately called 999 to get assistance.

“We broke the bathroom door, and brought the victim out using a stretcher, and handed over the body to the police for further action,” he added.
